Translate bundles and cart drawer text

Section Store text lives in 2 different places, and which one you use depends on what you are translating.

Getting this wrong is the most common reason people cannot find their text, so start here.

Translated inside the Section Store app: bundles, and cart drawer.

Translated in Shopify's Translate & Adapt app: conversion blocks, and purchased sections.

The reason is where the text is stored.

Bundle and cart drawer text belongs to our app, so we can give you the fields directly.

Conversion block and purchased section text is saved into your theme, so Shopify owns it and a different tool reaches it.

If you need those, use Translate conversion blocks and purchased sections instead.

This article covers bundles and cart drawer only.

It takes about a minute per language.

Translate bundle text

  1. In your Shopify admin, open Section Store, then Translations.
  2. Set the first dropdown to Bundles.
  3. Use the second dropdown to pick a single bundle, or leave it on All bundles.
  4. Choose your language in the dropdown on the right.
  5. Type your translation next to each original string, or click Auto-translate to fill them all in and edit afterwards.

Translate cart drawer text

Same screen. Set the first dropdown to Cart, pick your language, and fill in the translations. This covers the text in the drawer itself, including the reward bar and free shipping messages.

Leave placeholders alone

Anything inside double curly braces is a placeholder, not words. {{cart_total}}  gets swapped for a real value when a customer sees it. If you translate it, the line it sits in breaks.

So this is fine:

Spend {{cart_total}} more for free shipping  becomes Ajoutez {{cart_total}} pour la livraison gratuite

This is not:

Ajoutez {{total_du_panier}} pour la livraison gratuite

The translation is not showing on my store

Check you saved after editing. Check you picked the right language at the top right, it is easy to type a French translation while the selector still says English.

If you use Shopify Markets, confirm the language is actually published to the market the customer is browsing in. A translation only appears for languages your store has switched on.
